A fic must be at least 1,600 words in order to qualify. If you’d like to go higher or have it be multi chapter then feel free to do so, however make sure you will be able to complete it on time.

An illustration must be fully lined/and cleaned, colored and shaded in order to qualify. B&W is allowed as well.

When you receive your match- Do Not Reveal Yourself To Them!! Wait until the designated posting day to do so. This event will allow sensitive and dead dove topics: things like non-con, underage, or tropes that people do not like such as feminization, etc. However, precautions will be taken to ensure that people who are not comfortable with that are not paired with people who are. If this is something that upsets you anyways, please do not participate.

When signing up, please ensure you fill out all fields correctly and accurately. It is also mandatory that you send TWO prompts that you want to be used for your gift. Only one will be used, unless your gifter decides they want to use both. Your prompts MUST involve hybrid wangxian.

If you need to drop out of the project due to an emergency or other, inform a mod! Please try to not drop out unless absolutely necessary. We want to ensure everyone gets a gift. When signups close, we’ll be looking for pinch-hitters or people that don’t have an issue working on two gifts at the same time, in case this happens.

A gift exchange is where you create a piece of writing or art and give it to another based on what the recipient requested. This is done through an anonymous process first and then the gifter is revealed on the day chosen to post the gifts!

This gift exchange is to focus on wangxian with animal characteristics and features, and or being able to shapeshift into an animal. Think of dragonji and foxxian for example, however any type of animal is allowed as well. If you want to write about crowxian, tigerji, etc, then feel free to! This includes mythical creatures.

What is a Hybrid?
In fanfiction jargon, a hybrid character is a human who has animal characteristics and/or had their DNA altered with animal DNA. I think we all know the infamous Fox Wei Ying and Dragon Lan Wangji one!

What is the purpose of this exchange?
It's for writers/artists to show their love to Hybrid Wangxian and enjoy them to the fullest by creating a work and receiving one in exchange! It is a gift after all!

How does this exchange work?
Easy! You just have to read the rules & notice that is in this carrd or in the google docs and to abide the said rules when you send out your sign-ups on the google forms linked in! Make sure you're in Kaz's discord server!

When will this exchange happen?
As stated by the schedule on the carrd, May 31 is the start of the sign-ups and August 31 would be the day the content creators would post their works.

Do I really need to join the discord server?
Yes, this is somewhat a discord server event and it's easier for us to interact and talk about how we love Wangxian lol.

Can I post my work on other places instead of AO3 and Twitter?
You can, as long as it's accessible to the person you're gifting the work to. But as much as possible we would like your work to be posted on these two places.

Is Dead Dove content okay?
Yes, but please tag it properly and if you feel uncomfortable with the idea of having to see heavy topics then please exit as soon as possible!

You can!

You're asking me to put Two Prompts here, who are the prompts for? Will I be doing the prompts or my partner?
The prompts you're going to put will be for your partner! They will be the ones who will write/draw the prompt. So please add specific details as possible so both parties wouldn't be unsatisfied.

Can I use/include other prompts?
As long as you make sure the person who gave you the prompt wouldn't be uncomfortable, we will be sending some stuff they wouldn't want to include so keep those in mind! We recommend following the prompt they gave!

Of course! Any gender expressions is welcome here!

Is there a maximum word count for writers?
There is NONE! Go wild! As long as you keep in mind that the minimum word count is 1,600

I'm a participant but can I serve as a pinch-hitter as well?
We would be looking for different people for pinch-hitters but if there is somehow a lack of people, then if you have finished your work, it would be alright that you can be a pinch-hitter!

What if I can't finish my fic/art in time?
Contact a Mod immediately! We'll try our best to help and guide you throughout all of it but if it's not possible then we'll be hitting up the pinch-hitters.

What if I suddenly drop out?
Well... Please don't suddenly drop out without valid reasons..... Dropping out is alright but not when you have contacted the mods too late :')) But don't worry! If it's a very important business then we'll try and call some pinch-hitters!

Can I post my work anonymously?
Yep, but you won't be anonymous to the Mods and to the partner you were paired with. They need to know who made their desired gift!
